Police make arrest following crime spree in Somerset town

POLICE investigating a number of burglaries and thefts from vehicles in Wellington have arrested a suspect.Officers made the arrest after a neighbourhood PCSO spotted a man in the town who matched the description given by victims.A man was arrested just before 9am on Thursday, May 31, on suspicion of burglary and has since been released under investigation.Police had earlier urged residents to be alert after almost 40 incidents of thefts of cash from homes and vehicles over a month.The majority of incidents involved thefts of loose change from vehicles but there had also been six burglaries reported.
